Windows 10 screen black with cursor after login free download. Full Fixes for the “Windows 11/10 Black Screen with Cursor” Issue [MiniTool Tips]
Earlier today, my PC wouldn't load windows past the screen with rotating dots. After resetting Windows 10 Home, it was able to load up to the login screen showing my username and 'welcome'.
But after, it just loads to a black screen with the cursor. Windows opens in Safe Mode, and sfc says that it can find corrupted files but can't replace them.
I checked the log and there's a good few dozen it can't repair. DISM failed and couldn't complete, and chkdsk reports no errors. My installation disc can't fix the issue - it's log shows all it's tests completed successfully. A lot of other forums suggest its the display drivers or Windows trying to output display to a monitor it thinks exists but doesn't. I've tried all of those solutions and that doesn't seem to be an issue. If I reinstalled Windows into the same partition the corrupted installation is in, is there an easy way to move over my User, so that it was as if I just performed a reset of Windows there's just my one User - its moved into Windows.

The last thing I did that I would guess probably casued the issue was that I had installed some other operating systems on to a separate hard disk for multi-booting a few days before - and I did have to plug in the SATA drives while the PC was running becasue of how finnicky some of the older OS's were.
Although, that didn't immediately casue the issue, since I was able to boot into Windows 10 for a day or two before the issue occurred. And if hotplugging the drives did corrupt some of the windows files, using the installation disc to fix them should've worked, right? I had heard of the logitech issue - infact the only window I ever got on the black screen was actaully an error dialogue saying it had failed to load a logitech dll I had no luck unplugging all my peripherals though.
Unfortunately I don't have MalwareBytes installed at all, so it must've been something else causing the inital problem. There are few ways to resolve the black screen issue that you are experiencing.
