Just to confirm, you got the 1-computer "local" install of Office Pro Plus rather than the 5-computer Office pro Plus. In Programs and Features you will never see individual office programs, just the office bundle, as you reported.
The re- install process for local install programs on Win 8 is still basically the same as for Win 7. However, the re-install process for Office is different.
